Gold at Europe Cup for épée team Scaramouche |
|
Scaramouche delivered a unique performance by winning the European Championship for club teams in Heidenheim on 26 February 2023. The winning team consisted of Tristan and Rafael Tulen, David van Nunen, Ruben Derksen and their coach Rorik Janssen. After a blood-curdling final, Tristan managed to score the winning point. Never before has a Dutch team managed to win this European Cup. A historic moment. David van Nunen took 8th place at the individual World Cup tournament in Heidenheim shortly before. A strong event in which 41 countries with 340 participants competed for a podium place. There was much interest from the media and from NOC*NSF, Topsport Gelderland, Sportbedrijf Arnhem, Dutch Fencing Association KNAS, National and International Fencing Associations, among others. |

National Olympic Committee NOC*NSF opens the door for épée fencers |
|
Good news for fencing in the Netherlands. Tristan Tulen's silver medal at the European Championships has opened the door to facilities of NOC*NSF. This way the Olympic Committee offers Tristan Tulen, and with him the national men's epee team, an optimal environment to qualify for Paris 2024. On Friday 17 February, the national men's épée team, consisting of Tristan Tulen, Rafael Tulen, David van Nunen and Ruben Derksen, will officially lay the fencing runner. The National Training Centre for épée fencers organises fencing and strength training here and also provides an opportunity to practice with fencers from other countries. Scaramouche's training venue will also remain in use for the épée-team. |

Road to ParisIn the Netherlands, fencing sport does not have "pro status". This makes the road to the Olympics for top Dutch fencers more difficult. To support the fencers on their way to the Olympic Games in Paris, Exive has designed a hooded training vest: your purchase of this vest will benefit the fencers of the Dutch A-team men's épée. Orders can be made stating desired size (S-XL) for EUR 49.00 a piece at fencing club Scaramouche: info@scaramouche.nl. If desired, sponsors can have a number of vests provided with their own logo. For this, please contact Exive International by email to info@exive.eu. |
